Home - Journeys - Thailand and Laos 2020 - Sunday, March 15, 2020

Rain was expected for last night. And it rains when we wake up in Lat Krabang. Not just a little bit, but quite a downpour of at least three hours.
And it is 'cold' when we go out.
After a while it stops raining and the sky gets brighter. That's why the laundry is just hung outside to dry, not that that will work, because the humidity is still very high, but you never know.
After a while it gets very dark outside and the laundry is quickly put under a shelter. There is a strong wind for a moment, and then it starts raining again.
Unfortunately we cannot sit outside now.

Moue asks if we want to go to a Tesco Lotus, she has to go shopping. We will go along, because we have nowhere to go with the rain.
According to the forecast it would be dry at noon, that's right, the rain stops a little bit.
At the Tesco Lotus we first eat something at an Isaan restaurant, Zaab Classic. After that Moue goes shopping and we look around at the household items.
When we walk back to the car it is dry, but that does not last long.
Finally, at about three o'clock, the rain really stops and the sun starts shining again. It is considerably less warm than yesterday.

We have never been very concerned with the comotion surrounding the Covid-19 virus; we do not wear a face mask because they only help against particulate matter and not against viruses, we read on Dutch sites.
But we are receiving reports about measures in the Netherlands, there are many infections there and even deaths, it seems much worse than in Thailand. And when they arrive in Thailand now, the Dutch have to report where they are and how their health is doing for two weeks.
We wonder whether we know for sure whether we can fly back to the Netherlands on April 21.
